This workshop, 10th in the IIWeb series, is focused on identifying challenges to be overcome for effectively extracting and integrating information in big data applications. Specifically, we will provide a forum to discuss research directions, share experience and insights from both academia and industry. The anticipated outcome of the workshop is an assessment of the state of the art of the data integration research in the big data era, as well as identification of critical next steps to pursue.
Topics of interest, include, but are not restricted to:
Systems dealing with large scale data processing, integration and management
Name disambiguation and entity linking
Managing and integrating social, web, enterprise, real-time and historical data
Integrating Cyber Physical Systems with Enterprise Data
Issues in integrating large data networks with Personal Data
Case Studies, successes, lessons learnt
Sharing of data – policy needs, security concerns, incentives
The workshop’s intent is to provide a common platform to understand the critical problems they pose, determine the value-add they can bring in various domains and to enable cross-fertilization of ideas between the different scientific (database, machine learning, distributed computing, sensor management etc) and functional (academia and business) groups. We invite researchers working in any of the following areas to participate:
Information/Data Management & Integration
Knowledge Discovery & Data Mining
Distributed Computing
Social Media Analytics
Real-time Analytics
Big Data, Cloud & Analytics
Internet of Things (IoT)
Knowledge Representation, Ontologies & Metadata Management
