IEEE FG International Workshop on Heterogeneous Face Recognition (HFR)

Event Dates

May 30, 2017 - Jun 03, 2017

Location

Washington DC, USA

Submission Deadline

Feb 02, 2017

The international workshop on Heterogeneous Face Recognition (HFR) will be held in conjunction with IEEE FG 2017 in Washington DC on May 30, 2017.

Face recognition research and development have focused primarily on the visible spectrum. An emerging topic in face recognition is matching between heterogeneous

facial signatures acquired from different sensing modalities. Heterogeneous face

recognition (HFR) has the potential to solve many challenging problems and provide key

capabilities for commercial, law enforcement, intelligence, and military use. There is an emerging need for face recognition systems specifically designed for the task of

matching heterogeneous facial signatures.

This workshop is among the first to solicit proposals and provide a platform for the

face recognition community to promote research on sensors and algorithms for

heterogeneous face recognition. This workshop will bring together experts and

researchers from academia, government, and law enforcement to present HFR research

and discuss future directions.

Topics of Interest

The topics of the workshop includes but are not limited to

Sensors (visible, infrared, polarimetric, LiDAR, and emerging sensing technologies)

Face detection and fiducial point labeling for HFR

HFR scenarios:

-Infrared to visible

– Sketch (hand sketch, forensic sketch) to visible

– 3D to 2D

-Low-resolution to high resolution

-Video to image

Biometrics applications

Surveillance, Law enforcement applications

Submissions

The manuscripts should be submitted in PDF format and should be no more than 8 pages in IEEE FG 2017 paper format. The submitted papers should present original work not currently under review elsewhere and should have no substantial overlap with already published work. Accepted papers will be included in the Proceedings of IEEE FG 2017 & Workshops and will be sent for inclusion into the IEEE Xplore digital library.
