This conference will focus on ionic melts, slags, fluxes, or salts play important roles in metals and materials production and processing. Specifically, technical topics will include, but are not limited to:
Thermodynamic properties and phase diagrams (experimentation, modeling, and applications) of ionic melts
Physical properties (viscosities, thermal diffusivities, etc.) of slags, fluxes, and salts
Slags, fluxes, and salts in ferrous and nonferrous metallurgical industries
Interfacial and process phenomena involving foaming, bubble formation, and drainage
Fluxes and slags in welding processes
Glasses and their industrial applications
Refractory properties and their interactions with metals/slags/fluxes
Recycling and further utilization of metallurgical slags
Refining and recycling of metals involving salts and fluxes
Models and their applications in process improvement and optimization
New technology development and process improvement
Low carbon technology and process development
ICME and 3D materials
Materials genome initiative in process engineering
Novel applications of slags, fluxes and salts
These topics were chosen based on the technical areas of interest in previous versions of this conference, new and upcoming technologies, and traditional base metal industry needs.
