===============================================================================
Most of the time when we speak of multimedia corpora, we think of homogeneous
datasets consisting of either audio files, videos or sensor data. In recent
years, however, we could observe the creation of more and more heterogeneous
corpora that consist of data from different sources and of different modality.
A typical example are visual lifelogs, i.e., private data collections
consisting of large numbers of automatically recorded images, video snippets
and accompanying sensor streams. Visualizing such heterogeneous and often
large multimedia corpora raise novel challenges that cannot easily be addressed
by existing visualization methodologies that have been developed for
homogeneous datasets. However, not only visualizing but also browsing such
multimedia corpora is a challenging task that needs new interaction and
filtering methods in addition to textual queries. This workshop aims to provide
a platform for multimedia practitioners and researchers to discuss emerging
research trends in this field.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
——————–
The workshop will focus on the following topics of interest (but not limited to):
– Artful displays
– Content summarization and data linkage – visualization in 3D
– Context and concept-dependent visualization
– Graphical user interfaces for visualization of heterogeneous datasets
– Image and video browsing
– Interactive visualization
– Privacy-preserving visualization
– Quality enhancement
– Spatio-temporal visualization
– Stream-based visualization (e.g., of Big Data)
– Systems, applications, services and implementations
– Visualization of multimedia content from social events
– Visualization of image and video collections
SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION
——————–
We encourage researchers from industry and academia to submit original works.
Submitted manuscripts must be formatted in standard IEEE camera-ready format
(double-column, 10-pt font) and must be submitted via the ICME submission
system as PDF files (formatted for letter (8.5×11-inch) paper).
The manuscripts should be no longer than 6 pages.
The workshop papers will be published in the ICME 2014 proceedings and will
be archived in IEEE eXplore.
IMPORTANT DATES
