I’d like to bring to your attention the upcoming BioSysBio 2009 conference which is being held in Cambridge, UK next March 23-25. We already have in place a fantastic list of speakers covering Synthetic Biology, Systems Biology and Bioinformatics including:

Adam Arkin – Professor, Department of Bioengineering University of California, USA

Drew Endy – Assistant Professor of Bioengineering, Stanford University, USA

David Fell – Assistant Dean, School of Life Sciences , Oxford Brookes University, UK

Christina Smolke – Asst Professor, Chemical Engineering Department, Caltech, USA

Michael Stumpf – Chair of Theoretical Systems Biology, Imperial College London, UK

Joyce Tait – Innogen Scientific Advisor, ESRC Genomics Network, UK

In keeping with previous events held at Edinburgh, Manchester and last year’s conference at Imperial College, London, a significant amount of the programme will be dedicated to submitted talks and community-ran discussion sessions. We would genuinely encourage you to submit a brief abstract either for a talk / poster presentation, or workshop / discussion session before the rapidly approaching abstract deadline on Monday, 12 January 2009.

BioSysBio promises to be an exciting, action-packed three days that not only brings together the SynBio and SysBio communities, but also provides a unique opportunity to dine in Cambridge’s stunning King’s College Great Hall. Student registration is highly subsidised and is just £130 for all three days including the conference dinner at King’s on the Tuesday evening. More information is available at http://www.theiet.org/biosysbio.

We’d very much appreciate it if you could forward this email to friends, colleagues and local email lists that will find this event of interest.

I do hope you strongly consider submitting an abstract before January 12th and look forward to welcoming you to Cambridge next Easter.
