POLIANTEA. CALL FOR PAPERS: SMART CITIES. TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. APPLICATION
The participating articles should follow the guidelines of the Poliantea magazine, which are available here:

The articles should be uploaded to the OJS platform of the magazine at:
http://www.poligran.edu.co/poliantea or should be sent by email to: poliantea@poligran.edu.co ; dricciul@poligran.edu.co
The articles selected will be published in the special edition of the Poliantea magazine in Intelligent Cities provided that they successfully went through the revision process.
2. TOPICS
Articles about problems in “Intelligent Cities” will be received. We look for documents that develop the following topics:
Use of the city by individuals
Interaction and mobilization of the citizen based on information
Artistic expressions, traditions, and speeches that define cultural spaces
Promotion of future business in the Knowledge Era
Information and Communications Technology solutions set out by cities
Creation, collection, processing, and transformation of information in order to improve processes and services from communication, journalism, marketing, advertising, graphic design, and arts
Electronic metropolis as global city marketing strategy
3. SCHEDULE
Launch: July 18th, 2016
Presentation of articles: September 29th, 2016
Selection of articles: November 20th, 2016
Publication of results: January 24th, 2017
3. CONDITIONS TO PARTICIPATE:
Read and accept the terms and conditions of the contest
Students, teachers, researchers, or employees of Politécnico Grancolombiano University Institution cannot participate. We encourage the participation of external researchers who have a master’s degree or a doctorate and of postgraduate students
By accepting these terms and conditions and in the case the article is accepted, the contestant authorizes Politécnico Grancolombiano to use, publish, or distribute by any recognized means the article presented in this contest
Deliver the article according to the guidelines established in the Terms and Conditions stated herein for it to be evaluated by academic peers and in the event of winning, obtaining the prize
4. SELECTION AND PUBLICATION IN POLIANTEA
The texts will be reviewed by the Academic Department of Communication of Politécnico Grancolombiano. The best articles will be selected and among them, only one will be granted the prize
Being selected does not imply the immediate publication of the article. The articles selected will be submitted to the editorial process of the Poliantea magazine, which implies a revision by two academic peers
The article will only be published once this revision process is successfully fulfilled. For more information, please visit:

5. PRIZE AWARDING
The winner will receive $1’500.000 COP ($561 dollars, €509 Euros)
The name of the winner will be published on the webpage of the magazine: http://www.poligran.edu.co/poliantea
In order for the payment to become effective, the winner should provide all the necessary documentation to register as a service supplier of Politécnico Grancolombiano
The payment will be effective according to the procedures and dates of the Finance Department of Politécnico Grancolombiano
6. RIGHTS AND ORIGINALITY
The articles presented should be unpublished and cannot be submitted simultaneously to be considered by other magazines. Additionally, any article that has been totally or partially published by another magazine will not be received.
The article will be presented by the author with the license Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-ND 3.0).

8. RESPONSIBILITY EXONERATION:
Politécnico Grancolombiano University Institution is exempt of any responsibility derived from any possible mistake or inaccuracy existing in the information provided by the contestants as well as by the impossibility to identify them. Likewise, the Institution is exonerated of any responsibility regarding errors when delivering the prize provided that they are due to factors beyond its control or to the lack of action on the part of the winner.
9. FULLY ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATIONS
The participation in this contest implies the complete acceptance of the Terms and Conditions stated herein.
Politécnico Grancolombiano University Institution reserves the right to interpret or modify the conditions of this contest at any moment and even to cancel it as long as there is a justifiable cause. However, the Institution agrees to communicate through this means the updated regulations or the cancellation of the contest (as the case might be) in such a way that every participant has access to this information.
