ERC London Launch Workshop: Behaviour, Learning & the Economy

Date: Thursday, 7 May 2026

ERUNI ERC London is convening its inaugural London workshop to establish a high-signal research network at the intersection of economics and psychology/learning science. The event will combine two keynote lectures with curated paper sessions and structured discussion aimed at building durable collaboration across disciplines.

We welcome submissions from academics and researchers in economics, psychology, learning sciences, behavioural science, and adjacent fields—especially work that makes a credible bridge between mechanisms of learning/cognition and economic behaviour, markets, or policy.

Themes (illustrative, not exhaustive)

Learning, belief updating, expectations formation (micro/macro/finance)

Behavioural public policy; policy acceptance; fairness and distributional beliefs

Decision-making under uncertainty; risk perception; climate/transition behaviour

Learning interventions and measurement: experiments, field trials, computational models

Mechanisms and identification across disciplines (lab ↔ field; micro ↔ macro)

Institutional and social learning; diffusion, norms, and collective behaviour

What to submit

Extended abstract (2–4 pages) with key results, methods, and contribution.

Optional add-ons:

Bridge statement (max 200 words): How does your paper connect economics with psychology/learning science? (Mechanism, measurement, or inference link.)

Keywords: 4–6 keywords; economics submissions may add JEL codes.

Author info: name, affiliation, position, email (and optionally a short bio, max 100 words).

File format: single PDF.

All submissions to be sent to email vit.simral@eruni.org with the subject “ERC London Launch Workshop Submission”

Submission deadline: 22 March

Communication of selection: 27 March

The best paper will be awarded a prize and a financial reward.

In serious cases, it is possible to apply for a limited travel grant.
