International Workshop on Knowledge Acquisition and Management in the Internet of Things (KAMIoT 2012)
in conjunction with IEE IUCC-2012
June 25-27, 2012 Liverpool, UK
http://www.seba.bnu.edu.cn/KAMIoT2012/
The Internet of Things provides a promising vision of the future world where the virtual world of information technology integrates seamlessly with the real world of things. It is regarded as an ideal platform for people, as well as smart things, to communicate easily with each other not only in business and industries but also in our daily scenarios. Automation and intelligentialization are the primary characteristics of this promising environment where knowledge and information play key roles. The knowledge bases in the Internet of Things can acquire knowledge from domain experts as well as knowledge mining tools, which can retrieve new rules and models from massive information generated from people and things in future context of the Internet of Things. The models of knowledge management, knowledge refinement, and knowledge sharing are the keys to make the systems efficiently and effectively.
KAMIoT 2012 will provide the scientific community a dedicated forum for discussing research, development, and deployment efforts on knowledge issues in the Internet of Things. We encourage researchers from both industry and academia to submit original results of their works. Broad understanding of possible approaches to solving knowledge issues in the Internet of Things would be also encouraged.
Topics of interest include, but not limited to, the following scopes:
Identification technologies in the Internet of Things
Knowledge representation models in the Internet of Things
Knowledge retrieving and sharing mechanisms in the Internet of Things
Enterprise knowledge management in the Internet of Things
Reasoning algorithms for the knowledge systems in the Internet of Things
Interoperability including Semantic interoperability in the Internet of Things
Business information processing and business models in the Internet of Things
Integration of heterogeneous information for the Internet of Things
Management information systems of the Internet of Things
Technologies of data management and integration in the Internet of Things
Privacy protection and security issues of the Internet of Things
Service oriented computing in the Internet of Things
Intelligent applications of the Internet of Things
Data Mining in the Internet of Things
Context Awareness in the Internet of Things
Positioning and tracking based on Information processing in the Internet of Things
Submission Details(Please submit papers by email to yunch@bnu.edu.cn.)
====================
We encourage submissions of full papers and position papers presenting novel ideas that may lead to insightful technical discussions at this workshop. Papers should contain original contributions not published or submitted elsewhere, and references to related state-of-the-art work. All submissions should be prepared in the IEEE conference proceedings format (up to 6 pages in PDF/DOC format) and will be peer reviewed by three program committee members. Detailed guideline is available at http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting.
