Special Issue on Recent Advances in Multimedia Watermarking for Multimedia Digital Rights Management (DRM)

Journal of Information Privacy and Security (JIPS) (Taylor and Francis)

Aims and Scope:

The advancements in computers, communications, multimedia etc., has revolutionized the world. Advanced Internet services have enabled the vendors to create, copy and distribute multimedia products such as audio, video, and still images with much ease and less effort, at minimum or no cost, and in less time. On a positive note, it has encouraged trading on the Internet, but on the other hand it has created the problem of illegal copying or copyright infringement due to ease of copying, distribution, and manipulation of digital products. The owner or creator of the multimedia products has to think multiple times before making their products digitally available for consumer distribution, as they can be accessed beyond the stipulated or prescribed conditions, such as loss of compensation or royalty, improper usage, and assumed ownership. Digital watermarking technology is being used to save the multimedia contents (e.g., audio, images, and video) from the issues pertaining to copy right protection, copy protection, authentication and security. In addition, digital watermarking has been successfully used, for multimedia content enrichment or even compression (e.g., embedding color information in luminance) of an image. The objective of this special issue is to highlight new developments and new perceptions in the field of multimedia watermarking for digital rights management. High-quality original papers as well as review papers are

invited from the research community with an aim to continue efforts to understand the advanced techniques that lead to future improvements for the multimedia watermarking for multimedia digital rights management.
